Progressions Rationale

While programs for each of the years 1 to 6 are integrated to address curriculum requirements across the WhatWhen content and skills strands, the progressions describe the sequential development of each of the content and skills strands over all primary school years.

The WhatWhen progressions are supplementary to both the WhatWhen programs and to existing school and individual programs

They are designed to provide useful definitions to assist in the teaching of specific curriculum requirements. They also place the requirements in each strand in sequence, to facilitate reviewing previous learning and the direction of future learning.
